Elections

The Village’s functions are carried out by the Village Mayor and the Board of Trustees. Terms are for four years, with terms of office staggered, such that elections are held every two years. The next election will be in April 2027.

For a Village of Broadlands Trustee candidate, the election is a nonpartisan municipal election, so the standard Illinois municipal candidate packet is required.

The filing period for nonpartisan municipal candidates is:

• First day to file: November 16, 2026
• Last day to file: November 23, 2026
